Some time ago, some “designers” raised their voice against content theft and started a campain to tell people about this serious issues. In the following you will find nothing but real quotes from some of the involved parties. It’s quite amazing how people change their mind. But let’s start with the quotes:

First: I think people can make up what is a fact and what is a lie. If I’m so wrong then use your intellect and reveal my lies. Tell the people where I’m wrong. You are a journalist, aren’t you? You interviewd Minnu. So go ahead and explain what’s wrong with the facts mentioned above.
Second:
You interviewed Minnu Palen about a very serious issue which is called: Violation of IP Rights. And it was not about an issue in a GAME. It was and still is a REAL LIFE issue. And Minnu Palen hides her company in real life and you tell me that I need to get real and a name?
I don’t tell you that I’m one of the good. I don’t tell you that I have such a great reputation. I don’t tell you that Im such a person of integrity. People decide that on their own after they checked the facts.
Maddox DuPont and Minnu are people who talk about reputation, integrity and credibility a lot. Why? Because the facts do not speak for them. They are liars and copycats. And just because the outer packing is nice and they make money with it doesnt mean its okay.
Do your research and dont tell people to get a life just because they care about things THESE people propagated in the past!

I can assure you a lot of people do, why don’t you go after Beauty Avatar? they actually sourced from Danae’s work and renderosity, there are “logs” out there that can prove that.
Why don’t you go after designers like Redgrave who not only source their “clothes” but their skins and it’s quite obvious. Quit being such a hater, go make your own money, and if you’re going to witch hunt those who source, at least do it in a fair way, Minnu is not the only person whose sourced from renderosity.

Even if what she did was legal (still not sure about that), the original claim was that mms did not use source materials from renderosity. Later, when they had no other choice, they admitted that they did use the files. Many people stood by Minnu… they seemed to forget all about the lie once she admitted using Danae’s sources. It’s almost as if she never claimed otherwise.
All that is old news yes; but what IS new is the fact that MADesigns is now happily affiliating with MMS. this is an obvious show of the lack of integrity there.

Look at the problems with Pearl Boyingtion, she stole Paeoti Pomeray’s design’s and Paeoti had her account banned for 7 days due to the fact that she voiced her opinion and wanted LL to do something about Pearl. You really are a scary scary individual and your obsession with this dead issue is quite disturbing. Danae Kotsi herself has moved on and refuses to comment on this issue anymore. So please tell me, why are YOU still beating the corpse? What’s YOUR interest?
If you’re so against content theft, why do you limit your attacks to one group of people? Why have you said not one word about any other cases? How about the PXL/Laqroki drama, for instance? THAT was certainly an interesting case with lots of statements on both sides, but you, Morph, were conspicuously silent on it.
Oh, I know you’ll come up with some sort of answer that will involve quoting Maddox Dupont, but I think I know the true answer. I suspect that you dont give a shit about content theft at all. Minnu and Maddox teached us that you can get away with it just because this is Second Life. Minnu complained about people who ripped off her ZERO skin line just the day after the release and that people would think they could do that now just because she confessed that she copied, too. But then she tells us that she did not copy in the way a copybot does and that her way to “use copies” is more complicated and that she thought to be within her rights.
Allright! Minnu Palen explains that she did not copy like a copybot because her skills are improved so she can copy in Hi Fi and Dolby Surround or what?
And over night she turned into a 3D Artist who’s making skins a long time before she even knew about Second Life. That’s the reason why she copied from Danae then, I guess? And you tell me that I’m the psycho?
Anonymous pamphlets, leaflets, brochures and even books have always played a role in communication. I don’t take myself that important. But I think the facts I’m talking about are important.
And you didn’t get it, yet. I am not claiming I’m all about integrity and artistic standards. And Im not claiming all about my reputation. Minnu and Maddox did. They did with a huge tamtam and bold statments and acted in the opposite way. All I do is to remind them of their own words. Why is that wrong? Its evident to see why she does supply her name, and in fact she might not have set that up specifically i know a few sites (my own included) that just come that way when you buy the domain.

1. The rendorsity files were licensed for commercial and non commercial renders.
Since Minnu became a 3D Artist and Skin Creator over night, I’m sure she will explain us what exactly a render is in the world of 3D Artists. Cherie forgot to ask that in the interview. But I’m sure Minnu will explain it anyways.
2. Also Minnu did not proof anything. First she tried to wriggle herself out and then all she did was to confess that she copied from Danae’s files after the public pressure was too strong.
3. Minnu send Photoshop files to Danae and to Aradia Dielli. Aradia saw something that made her state that the skins are NOTHING alike and that Danae is a liar. My question here, is: What did Minnu send to Aradia? What did Aradia see?

Now after a few restyling, a few elegant pictures here and there, a new set of skins (which actually didnt even improve much from the previous versions, no creativity shown by the designer), everyone is now pro-minnu again.
those people who were against glam world are now commenting here and attacking this post.3 or 4 months ago they would just have agreed with it.
some people here now defends Minnu so much that they’re blaming other designers!

Now, I will ding Palen for untruthful marketing, but it is NOT settled that she violated the license agreement. It is merely moot as she withdrew those skins that may have been legal – though unethically marketed as her own work – in order to stop the baying hounds. At worst, her crime is lying to her customers about all original work. That is much less significant than others.
Where’s your rant and rave about Redgrave. That
s not settled yet, but you’re silent because it’s not MMS. You say PXL and Laqroki are settled which shows how disinterested you are in content theft overall because Mallory says she is filing a DMCA…so your ignorance of that just proves that you don’t really care about content theft at all, you only care about the folks associoated with GLAM and all that.

Comment by Tailormade September 23, 2008 @ 5:58 pmI am sorry for Guy’s condition as well, I truly am, I am not blaming her, but who put her on a pedestal and didn’t show her that “pro ana” means “pro death”. Her Flickr was and is not a good example for the young women out there as it made anorexia look fashionable, while we all know that it isn’t! My best friend suffered from it and I know it’s anything BUT nice. If she’s looking for help I am glad, but I don’t see how she is doing that.
Tailormade, alot of people who’ve have had weight issues save things to remind them of their issues, for example those who have been extremely overweight still keep clothes to show off to their friends and rejoice in their accomplishment, why can’t this be the case?
Maybe she’s kept those pictures there to remind her of a bad phase in her life and to keep her from going back.

Lookin back now if a agency or catalogue or magazin had asked for my picture during that time or during recovery i dont think i’d be alive today.

Oh Sally you misunderstood! I am not comparing and I am a fan of Minnu’s work as well! I was just saying that in my opinion having her, an openly pro ana person hurts more than the “supposed” theft.
