Some time ago, some “designers” raised their voice against content theft and started a campain to tell people about this serious issues. In the following you will find nothing but real quotes from some of the involved parties. It’s quite amazing how people change their mind. But let’s start with the quotes:
“On the occasion of Minnu Palen’s “Future of Second Life” video release, I want to add my voice to the protest against content theft in Second Life.” – Ewing Fashion Agency
“I believe that copycats need to be exposed and can use some bad press just so that they understand that they can not get away with it just because this is Second Life. Reputation is everything in Second life and supporters of copycats should go down with them.” – Maddox DuPont (MAD Agency, MADesign)
“We will be forced to take more drastic measures” – Minnu Palen (MMS Goddess)
“We all must be united against content theft or else the future of Second Life will be unbearable. You can watch Minnu Palen’s video below.” – Ewing Fashion Agency
“We’re sorry, this video is no longer available” “This video has been removed by the user.” – Youtube
What happened?
“Hello… My name is Danae Kotsi and I am a professional digital creator” – “I create photorealistic skin textures for applications such as Poser” “I have been a Top Selling artist in the 3D community for many years”
“A certain member – seller of your community is using my original, licensed products as their own.” – “The product I am referring to is the “minnu model skins, generation 4“”
“As a professional my main income comes from producing and selling works” – “It takes lots of research, money and many months of hard work to produce just one item and having this stolen by someone and claiming it as their own is very infuriating and insulting.” – Danae Kotsi (Professional Digital Creator)
And the reactions?
“This person is lying” – “Skins don’t look alike; nails are the same ones she’s used on EVERY single generation. Veins on the feet are veins used on the male generation, and well… as you can see from those pictures; they are “NOTHING” alike.” – “If you believe everything written by someone with no credibility, there’s the door use it. Or I will show you the way out myself.” – Aradia Dielli (Owner and CEO of FACES and Perfect Image, Brand GManager for MMSkins, Executive Director for GLAMsl Magazine, …)
“Once I know the TRUTH I will act on it” – “I am a man of integrity” – “And when the time comes to face the truth I believe that I will face it with dignity” – “And my shop may no longer be at GLAM and my involvement may not continue” – Maddox DuPont
“I am not, and will never be an employee of GLAM or MMS.” – “My work with them was done by individual contract” – Sofia Gray (Ex-Blogger, Freelance MMS Pinup)
“Danae isn’t it true that Minnu sent you her PSD files and some of her sources? I saw some of what she sent you and it was pretty dang clear to me” – Aradia Dielli
After some weeks Minnu Palen spoke up:
“I (Minnu Palen) did use rendered pictures of the purchased textures” – “Items sourced and in question are the light brown eyebrows, lips and belly button” – Minnu Palen
Remember:
“Compare the lips and eyebrows that’s all you need to look at” – “unlike copycats I have not left my ethics and moral values at the door when I log in SL” “Once I know the TRUTH I will act on it” – “I am a man of integrity” – “And when the time comes to face the truth I believe that I will face it with dignity” – “And my shop may no longer be at GLAM and my involvement may not continue” - Maddox Dupont
What does that mean? Let’s see:
“GLAM World official re-opening with new MADesigns Store at GLAM and Shapes for new gen of MMS Skin.” - Maddox DuPont
Questions:
What did Minnu send to Aradia Dielli that made Aradia say that Danae is lying and the skins look NOTHING alike?
What does integrity and reputation mean to Maddox DuPont?
How many individual contracts in succession makes you an employee?
What does it mean when Maddox says that supporters of copycats should go down with them?
Why do people ask for my identity while Minnu Palen even anonymised the ownership of her business webpage domain?

“What good is thousands of readers if there is no portal to express your voice?
Not much!
We want to hear about your thoughts, comments and especially about your new discoveries.” – Frolic Mills
You are right! And here we go, Frolic:
In one of the latest articles on the new BOSL webpage you will find an interview with Frolic Mills where he talks about the Miss SL Universe Organisation. Let’s have a closer look at this special part:
Umberto Giano: Now, there were some accusations against yourself about misrepresentation of the prize package in the original pageant. What do you say to this?
Frolic Mills: Oh yes, I read about this, and, quite frankly, I had no choice but to laugh. I didn’t defend myself then, and I won’t do it now. I just don’t think any of my friends nor business associates would ever believe that I stole a pair of shoes (or whatever) from an ex-beauty queen.
If you know the story behind this statment, you also know that Frolic Mills is telling you 2 lies in just 1 answer.
First lie: I had no choice but to laugh
Second lie: I just don’t think any of my friends nor business associates would ever believe that I stole a pair of shoes (or whatever) from an ex-beauty queen.
And here is the Truth:
1. He did not laugh but ejected the whole Aspire Crew from the “Associated SL Press” group in reaction. This group has nothing to do with the Miss SL Universe Organisation. If Frolic Mills really laughed it might sound like the laughter of El Caudillo. Who else if not El Caudillo would ban you from the press when he is pissed and ask you to express your voice when he needs some good avertisment.
2. It was not about “a pair of shoes (or whatever)” but something between 50.000L$ and 80.000L$. Three (!) month after Miss Universe was crowned she received 30K of it. But she had to remind the Organisator also known as El Caudillo. Another prize was a contract with the MAD Agency. The founder of this agency never got back to her.
More main sources here and here.
People like Frolic Mills do nothing but spending a lot of real life money to pay architects to build up a huge theater where they could act like SL Caudillo. And then they interview each other and spread out even more lies.
I hope the future of SL doesn’t belong to copycats and liars which get their legitimation through nothing but a huge marketing network.

Today I want to review two pair of shoes I really adore because they are original and unique and awesome. This awesomeness is melting my feet! Not because the shoes might look like granny’s seething teapot, but for the pure fashion.
The skill level and fashion knowledge required by the designer to create a pair of shoes like this is un-be-lie-va-ble high. Who if not someone who “designed for many of the best fashion brands of Italy” would be able to completely disregard anatomy and physiology in such an ultimate perfection?
Yes, a designer who lives “in one of the major fashion capitals of the world” can!
And this leads me to another inspiration Bianca Foulon might have thought of. Something a lot of “major fashion capitals in the world” are suffering of and for some time Second Life, too:

“Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.” – But is it really?
Two “designers” in Second Life started their brands to educate the residents of Second Life in fashion and style. Both were accused to copy designs from real life designers or from other “designers” in Second Life.
Both could get away with it without reaching any clarifications because of a strong network of supporters like Maddox DuPont (MAD Agency), Frolic Mills & Cheri Parkers (Best of Boulevard), EmilyC Carnell (Modavia) and some other people. It seems like all together they try to define what “truth”, “integrity” and “reputation” is. They build up a huge marketing network and award themself and each other to blind us.
But could they really fool us? Us, as the customers in Second Life?
Let’s have a look at these pictures and forge our own opinion about style, fashion and beauty:
Is that style & fashion? Is it beauty? Does their personality shine through? No one but YOU decide!

Rhi Rossini of the Second Style blog just released an article about the new Minnu Model Skin. She titled the article with “ZERO Tolerance from Minnu Palen” and started it with this:
“Minnu Palen is well known for her amazing skins. She has also been known lately due to some unsavory and undeserved drama. I won’t get into that, but I do want to praise her for being strong and keeping her head up high!”
Undeserved drama?
This is what the people of Second Style call it when other people care about content theft and copycats? Are they serious? Is this what they think about talking about IP rights which do not only exist inside Second Life?
Don’t they care about all the Gen4 Customers who will never ever get their money back?
Don’t they care about reaching clarification for all involved parties?
“I (Minnu Palen) did use rendered pictures of the purchased textures” – “Items sourced and in question are the light brown eyebrows, lips and belly button” – Minnu Palen
She admitted this after weeks of “drama” and bad press. After weeks of not speaking up. After a bunch of people did not just shut up like the CSR’s of Minnu Model Skins told them to do. And you won’t get into that but you want to praise Minnu for keeping her head up high? Are you serious?
“I believe that copycats need to be exposed and can use some bad press just so that they understand that they can not get away with it just because this is Second Life. Reputation is everything in Second life and supporters of copycats should go down with them.” – Maddox DuPont
I think what Maddox is trying to tell us is:
ZERO tolerance for Minnu Palen.
